Fir Meadow Farm
Welcome to our farm!   We started with our Lamancha dairy goats in Sequim, Wa.  to  have a home milk supply.   The "munchies" won our hearts with their loving personalities.  We also found their breed characteristics: hardiness (efficiency),  high butterfat resulting in great tasting milk,  & their consistent extended lactations to be what we were looking for.    We all now reside in the lovely mountainous Methow Valley in Okanogan County, Central Washington.

We strive to produce lamanchas that have a sound structure to milk for many years as well as show.   We test annually for CAE & have a negative herd.  We are on  DHIR (milk test), are appraised biannually & show.  Our next appraisal is scheduled for Aug 2003, so please check back.  The kids are raised on heat treated colostrum and pasturized milk.   The does dine on good quality local alfalfa, imported dairy grain, and seasonal pasture.   Our kids are considered growthy in our show circuit,  which testifies to their good health and management.   All show placings are from official sanctioned shows.

Sales lists are available upon request, US or Canada.   We accept Pay Pal & other traditional forms of payment for your convenience (for Pay Pal please add $5 per $100 sent to cover paypal charges).   We retain breeders rights on herd replacements.  We will deliver kids to Wenatchee & Spokane International, but all shipping costs, including kennels and health papers,  are the responsibility of the purchaser.   We do pay for and provide registration papers.   To boer breeders and others who do not require registered bucks,  we will make some available every year unregistered, but tattooed.   Some yearling milkers are available every year (show & homestead quality) & occasionally a mature buck.  Please inquire about availability.  Please bear with our photos as we work on getting better ones...   Thank-you  to our 2002 customers for giving us a sold out year.  Prices on kids start at $200.

Years' Highlights Below
2002 is doelightful!   Thank you to Jesus for His guidance in our herd.

Milk Awards: Marquis & Nasturtium have 3000# lacations in.  Blondie is over 2500 (we moved her here in milk this year) & lifetime 10,000.  Dolly (9 yrs old) is over 2000, and has her lifetime 10,000 in. Windy also has her lifetime 10,000.  Precious & Penni have starred.

Tempo Phillipe got a Jr RGCH at our Lamancha buck specialy,  district 7 & 1st jr get at the Spokane Interstate & Central Wa State fairs.  Mitch took second sr get at the Spok Interstate Fair & 1st at CWSF.  Radiance & Praline received RGCH.  Blondie & Melody both finished with GCH & have BOB wins.Blondie was also Reserve All American 4 year old for 2002.  Lu Lu & Nasturtium earned milking legs.  Rosine & Rochelle (Radiance's twin) got dry legs.  11 qualifying ADGA legs were won on 6 different does.  A good year.

Our entire herd tested CAE neg (1/09/03 WSU) a 4th year in a row.  Though we've always owned only negative goats,  we still heat treat and pasteurize for the optimum safety of our kids.

Thank-you for sharing in our blessings!

Milk.  Show.   This buck comes from a young pedigree full of champions and national show quality does.  He himself is linebred on Katya and will linebreed nicely on his granddam Notta Shy Anne.   He sports a  nice and wide leg set with high and very wide escutcheon.   He also has a lovely dairy neck flowing into a high and sharp smoothly blended front end, and wide and long rump.  We were told to expect him to provide tremendous udders, and improvements in front end, rear legs and style in his daughters. First kids have sharp front ends, rear legs and are indeed stylish, with one already getting 2 x RGCH, & another her dry leg (GCH).   He earned a jr RGCH at the 2002 dist 7 Lamancha Buck Specialty. He had the 1st place jr get of sire at the Spokane Interstate Fair & CWSF.  2003 kids on the ground are beautiful and consistent with last year's.  1st daughter freshened with a beautiful and milky mammary and improved over her dams.

Lots of Gch and some national show placings and breed leader spots in Rede's pedigree.  His dam has been consistently producing lovely mammaries out of several sires, has a GCH daughter, and milked 13.7 on test as a 7 year old- even with permanent mammary damage.   Two of his paternal sisters have earned dry legs going GCH.  This is a gorgeous buckling who oozes dairy character with great feet & legs and the nicest topline on the move.  We think he has a lot of potential- especially in the mammary and milk departments.   March dtr already has an RGCH!

Rye is an exciting addition to our breeding program.   He will linebreed into our herd on the 5K lines, Me's Ranch Dutch Belted, & Me's Ranch Alex Checkmate- all proven GCH producers.   Strong appraisal scores and show records are behind him,  including his paternal grandam's Reserve National Champion and Reserve Best Udder at the '99 Nationals.  His sire's yearling maternal sister,  Rockin CB 3D Pennyroyal has been 5x 1st so far this year.  5-K's contribution should be milk, feet & legs, and excellent body structure.  Looking for mammary, stature, long bone and smooth blending from this guy, as well as his dam's E general appearance.  He, himself, is a general appearance buckling that is hard to fault.  His escutcheon is opening up and rounding out as he matures.  First kids are what we were hoping for- gorgeous!

We lost Mitch to a feeding accident and will miss him greatly.  Though only 3 years young at his passing his daughters are already showing & milking themselves well.   Two with dry legs, a rgch,  several firsts, etc.   They continue to improve as they mature.  He had the 2nd place sr get of sire at Spokane Interstate- with a doeling/yearling/2yo in a strong class (and 1st at CWSF).  See Rosine, Ruby, and Rachel.  We are so thankful to have kept his son Redemption to continue his legacy.    I have some semen in the tank of his LA 91 EEE Grandsire to line back into the herd later.  Semen not for sale.

This wide and deep buck has a very calm and collected temperament.   He has excellent feet and legs and a strong correct topline.    His offspring have wide flat level rumps with a variety of breedings.   They are also exhibiting size, wide rear leg sets, good feet, long straight backs and long hip to pins length.  His milking daughters show improvement in shape, attachment, teat size/placement, and better orifices. His full sister, Electra is GCH LA 90,   and a half sister was 5th place 2 yr old -'98 nationals.  His 2001 son went jr GCH & Ec overall.  We sold Majestic this year as we will use him ai.  See daughter Rennaisance on doe page.

We are pleased to be retaining this lovely buckling.   We feel he will be a positive influence on the lamancha breed.   His dam, at 4 years old,  is the prettiest she's ever been.   Stay tuned for our LA scores this late summer.  Littermate sister Sonnet already has a 1st and 2nd in from her 1st show.
